Dominic Michael Gioffre Jr., DDS
Dr. Dominic Gioffre is a general dentist, practice owner, and hospital attending with more than 25 years of clinical experience serving patients in Delaware. He is the owner of First State Dental, P.A., and has served as an attending dentist at Christiana Care Health System since 2000, providing care for medically complex and underserved populations
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Gioffre has dedicated decades to international humanitarian work through Operation Smile, participating in and leading dental missions across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. His work emphasizes essential dental care, oral health education, and collaboration with local providers.
Dr. Gioffre is actively involved in professional leadership and governance and is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists. He lives and practices in Wilmington, Delaware.
Georgette B. Binnersley, DDS
Dr. Georgette B. Binnersley is a graduate of the University of Maryland Dental School with an undergraduate degree in Finance from the Catholic University of America.
After obtaining her dental degree, Dr. Binnersley completed a general practice residency at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Washington, D.C. She then moved to Delaware and has been part of the Wilmington community since 1992.
Dr. Binnersley is a member of the American Dental Association, the Delaware State Society, and the First State Implant Study group. She has had the privilege to become part of the Operation Smile Organization in 2013.
She has taken advanced hands-on courses in cosmetic, restorative, and endodontic dentistry and is dedicated to improving her skills and knowledge in dentistry to provide her patients with the best possible care. Dr. Binnersley is also bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish
Dr. Marissa Schnelle
Dr. Marissa Schnelle is a graduate of The Ohio State University with an undergraduate degree in Biology from Case Western Reserve University. She then moved to Delaware and completed a general practice residency at Christiana Care in Wilmington in 2005. She has been working in the community ever since as a general dentist and, for the past five years, has also spent time in a pediatric practice.
Dr. Schnelle is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Delaware State Dental Society, and the First State Implant Study Group. When not practicing dentistry, Marissa is busy with her husband Mark, raising their three kids, enjoying the beach, and traveling.
Dr. Alexander Crawford, DMD
Dr. Alexander Crawford, known as “Dr. Zee," began his education at Dickinson College, where he played baseball and earned a double major in Biochemistry and Chemistry. He then attended Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry, graduating with honors in 2021. After earning his DMD, he completed a General Practice Dentistry Residency at Christiana Care Hospital.
Dr. Zee has been practicing at First State Dental since 2022 and is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Delaware State Dental Society.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Zee enjoys spending time with his wife, Danielle, their daughter Nell, and their two dogs, Pippa and Rory. He is a big Duke basketball fan and enjoys watching sports whenever he gets the chance.
Dr. Zee is dedicated to serving his community and takes pride in creating a comfortable, welcoming environment for every patient. He looks forward to building long-term relationships and delivering exceptional care with a kind and gentle approach.
Alvin Chen, DMD
Dr. Alvin Chen is a dedicated general dentist known for his patient-focused approach to care. A Delaware native, he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware and graduated at the top of his class from Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry with a 4.0 GPA. He then completed a General Practice Residency at Christiana Care Hospital, enhancing his clinical skills and dedication to high-quality care.
Growing up in Wilmington as the child of immigrants influenced Dr. Chen’s passion for accessible, compassionate dentistry. Early experiences in his family’s restaurant helped develop a strong work ethic and manual dexterity that led him to dentistry, where he values patient education, trust, and long-term relationships.
Dr. Chen is an active member of the ADA, AGD, DSDS, and Omicron Kappa Upsilon, and he stays current through continuing education. Outside the office, he enjoys pickleball, powerlifting, running, traveling, exploring new foods, and spending time outdoors with his girlfriend, Shannon.
